Pricing Policy

We want to be THE retired LEGO store in New Zealand so we strive to provide the largest range at the most competitive prices for our retired LEGO products. We watch retired LEGO pricing of local and international markets closely to make sure we bring the best deals possible for you.

Procuring retired LEGO sets from overseas is an expensive exercise with certain risks associated. Shipping (can sometimes exceed $100 for large heavy sets) and importing costs (paypal charges, currency conversion charges, 15% GST, 5% duty charges etc) are highly significant and can add a further $200 - $300 to the international average prices of some items. We then add a small mark-up ("convenience/procurement fee") for providing this service.

Due to the appreciative nature of LEGO collectibles, our pricing is largely determined by demand, stock procurement costs, and stock holding costs. We utilise a fluid pricing strategy for our range of products. For example, we price our recently retired products at lower margins for the first portion of our total units on hand. As the rarity goes up and stock on hand goes down, our prices will start increasing as more units sell. This process is heavily determined by the aftermarket demand so sometimes our prices can rise very quickly to help preserve our range. Our advice to you is to not wait too long if you like something from our shop as once they are gone, we are unlikely to be able to secure more at that price.

Brick happy!
